THE HOTEL
Alila Ubud is a tranquil and secluded hillside retreat that sits high up on the edge of the rich green Ayung River valley in Bali’s central foothills. The resort is located just minutes from Ubud, the island’s cultural heart. Blending contemporary design and traditional Balinese architecture, the secluded courtyards, spacious terraces and private gardens create an intimate feeling like none other.

LOCATION
Alila Ubud, in the traditional Balinese hill village of Payangan and on the banks of the mystical and magical Ayung River, is just five kilometers from Bali's artistic centre of Ubud, the place where artists and painters, writers and musicians from around the world find their inspiration. Here guests can visit a number of art galleries and museums, see dramatic and opulent temple festivals and dances, and take in the magic of the real Bali.

The hills and valleys surrounding Alila Ubud contain a number of traditional villages and family compounds as well as some of the most spectacular scenery in Bali. Various tours are available from Alila Ubud featuring treks through the stunning local countryside away from the tourist crowds.

ROOMS
The 56 rooms are housed in 14 two-storey blocks designed to resemble a Balinese village. All rooms have panoramic views of the magical Ayung River and surrounding volcanoes.

The rooms on the ground floor (Deluxe room - pictured below) feature individual garden terraces and a back courtyard with an open-air bathroom and shower. The upper floor rooms (Superior) feature a private balcony and unobstructed views.

There are four superb Ayung River Villas and four Garden Villas. The Ayung River Villas offer a spacious walk-around deck and are perched over the valley affording spectacular views of the Ayung River. The Garden Suites provide a private tropical garden and an outside bath surrounded by a lotus pond.

New Sleep Mints at Alila Ubud in the form of in-room Apple iPods are now available in the resort's Deluxe rooms and Villas. Guests can also upload their choice of music at the library. Just plug it in, pop in your iPod and play.

Enjoy new bedscapes from "Ploh" in fresh white down comforters and high-thread count soft bed sheets and plump pillows. You’ll also find new daybeds in each of the Superior rooms on the upper floors, where you can chill out, read a book or just day dream while overlooking the Ayung River gorge.

Villa Lumbung - Legian Kuta, Bali

Hotel Vila Lumbung is located 5 km northwest of Legian/Kuta, away from the crowd and perfectly situated to enjoy your holiday in quietness and tranquility, though only a 10 minutes taxi-ride away from the shopping places of this pulsing tourist center. Petitenget, with its important temple next to the sea and just minutes from Seminyak, has developed into the favorite restaurant and entertainment area for the expatriate community here with many of Bali's best-known restaurants in the vicinity.

The Hotel Vila Lumbung is a small exotic village surrounded by masterly designed tropical gardens of approximately 12.000 square meters. The special shape of the grass-roof villas is derived from the typical Balinese "Lumbung". The upper part of this center hut of each family compound serves as a rice barn, while the lower floor - an elevated lounging area ("Bale") - is used as a meeting place.

We transformed this concept into a unique design of our guest rooms. While the dome shaped grass rooftop of the upper floors conveys a spacious and tropical feeling, the ground floor's Bale is made into a cozy retreat next to the garden.
